March was big in Ohio!

Thanks to the continued efforts of Gary Kanaga and David Ricks, I believe that Ohio may have had a major contribution to that record setting March for the USAPL

David arranged the first Annual USAPL Ohio High School meet with Shawnee Coach Tim Seelig. We had almost 50 new lifters join the USAPL.

Then Gary, who felt powerlifting was starting to wane at the local meet level, decided to lower his meet entry fees to $30 for Adults ($15 for additional) and $20 for Teens. He may have lowered the entry fees, but as usual he didn’t skimp on the awards. The result was actually having to turn lifters away who were passed the entry deadline. We had around 85 lifters, many of whom I’m sure were purchasing their 2008 USAPL memberships.

This coming weekend (June 7th) will mark another boost in entries from last year (and hopefully more memberships) at the 6th Annual Pete Lanzi Memorial Meet (run by Gary and Pete’s father John Lanzi). David will follow up this August with his 5th Annual Southern Ohio Championships.
