In Response To: IPF rules tarnishing USAPL popularity? (Bud Randall)

For one thing, the IPF approved equipment list is very meet director unfriendly. I am pretty sure that has driven some former ADFPA meet directors away especially if they had already invested in weights, barbells, racks, and benches by mfgrs. not on the IPF approved equipment list. So instead, they host meets under other sanctions.

Also, lifters may find the approved equipment list restrictive if they favor a lifting gear mfgr. not on the approved IPF list. When I started lifting with ADFPA 16 years the only rules I recall were that the supportive gear must be single ply and conform to specified dimensions. The ADFPA rulebook contained specified dimensions for the meet equipment too for that matter.
