Judging question

The various forums generally have comments about judging which is either too strict or not strict enough. Most people don't like to be told that they make a mistake so I presume that most judges make decisions so that they are not second guessed.
Many sports that depend on subjective human decisions have introduced technology to assist the judges in making consist and fair calls. Many times this is by instant replay from a video camera.
There are inexpensive Point & Shoot cameras with the capability of taking video pictures. Just go to U-Tube and do a search under powerlifting. :>)

Why don't we assist the judges by requiring that videos be shot of all record attempts, so that they can be reviewed to verify if the squat was deep enough, or the pause was long enough, etc. This would enable the contestant to challenge a Red Light decision, and an official video of all records.

Seems like a simple way to add a degree of fairness and consistency to the judging, plus the added benefit of providing a method of educating and traininng judges.
