In reading all the posts I see about as many compliments as complaints about The Jury/& Referees
so may I suggest this.
Those of you that may already be State Referees, and meet the requirements, ask your State Chair if you can be recommended to take The National Referee Exam. If it is OKd by the State Chair and the Referee Chair I will make a point of being at the National Meet you want to take your test at, and give you the examination--your time-your date, your call.
From what I read here it should be a cake walk. Then you get on the platform with the other referees and do your best to be fair.
Why some have bragged about knowing the rulebook forward and backwards with eyes like a hawk.
We are always looking to 1. Do a better job. 2.Be
fair and when in doubt give the lifter the benefit, and 3. Always looking for more help.
Try to do this in the next 8 months-- High School
Nationals will be getting ready, and that Championship grinds up referees. We can always use
more help--12 Referees at a time all day for three days takes a toll.
Grab your rulebook, grab a blazer and take the test.
