In Response To: Raw National Meeting will be held Friday, July 25 (Harold Gaines)

I'm not aware of the agenda for the meeting but I have a suggestion for an agenda item:

Raw records should include all records set prior to the introduction of Suits and Shirts as acceptable lifting garments in the USAPL rules.

I feel that there is a rich history of raw lifting in this federation prior to 2007 and those records and accomplishments should be maintained in the current raw records until broken under similar raw lifting conditions.

I don't know the dates when the Federation rules were changed to allow lifting shirts and suits, but the records that were on the "books" prior to those dates should be moved over to the current American Raw records. That should be the starting point for the Raw records.

I have lifted in two Raw contests since the rules created a "new/old" lifting division. Raw lifting did not begin in 2007, it has been around since the begining of organized contested powerlifting. The USAPL is just CONTINUING the "old" way of lifting along side the "new" equiped lifting.

Thank you
