In Response To: Re: I'd try to play better (Jim Ray)

(Jim): Well, at the intra-squad scrimmage last night, Rodgers threw 9 straight incompletions. How did Wash. 3rd-stringer Colt Brennan do against the Colts?

Should be interesting. Rodgers is going to make mistakes like anyone in their first year. It's just a matter of how many and how important.

Farve has missed all of camp and is now with new receivers and a new line and an new system.

This entire season is going to be all about the Jets and Packers and how the QBs do. At least in media coverage.

(Jim): Again, IMO, keep Favre and Brohm - lose Rodgers.

I didn't see that happening. The staff has worked with Rodgers for 4 years and he knows the system and was also the first pick the GM ever made. I
figured he'd be around for at least this season. Brohm is still an unknown in terms of the NFL. He might be the next superstar or the next Art Schlister.

(Deep): BUT Rodgers is a free man after this season. In my opinion, he'd be an idiot to re-sign with Green Bay if he wants to play this season or the next.

(Jim): Peter King said it best: GB now has 2 QBs that don't trust the coach or the GM.

True Dat. Although, Rodgers must have more faith now....

(Jim): In the next couple of years, CB might be a bigger question mark, with 2 aging starters.

True.

(Jim): Too late. In the SI article, Rodgers said “I don’t feel I need to sell myself to fans. They need to get on board now, or keep their mouth’s shut.”

I forgot about that.

(Jim): IMO, Brohm would be given the usual slack accorded a brand new QB next year or the next.

Agreed. They will expect Rodgers to hit the ground running despite the fact that he's got less than one full game under his belt but Brohm, being a rookie would get the benefit of the doubt unless he Ryan Leafed it.

But you know what I say... Go Raiders!
