In Response To: Re: Why two forums? (Jason Burnell)

Hey Jason,
Was not attacking your forum. Was responding to another posters comment which was made in jest. And it was in no way intended to suggest that Fed dollars (or cents) was funding it. In fact, I like your forum. I have noted problems on the other and am not too happy that messages are not immediately posted. Is there concern about censorship that caused this forum to come into existance? You have dedicated and well meaning folks working over there as well.

It is important though, that dollars are spent with considerstion to maximizing the most efficent benefits of the org (or in this cas, the forum)to the intended goup (or in this case) your membership. Are you not concerned that information is not going to be evenly distributed? Perhaps a link could be provided on both pages. They can co-exist as the previous poster suggested. If there is already a link..., my oversite.

It seems like you have a tug of war going on here between the sites now that this matter is being discussed. Is there a allegiance or a following of supporters who will go to one site or the other? I think it would be counter productive to the Fed if camps are being formed and an atmosphere of us against them existed or was being fostered. I would encourage that everyone get along and enjoy the one common thing that bounds us and that is lifting and furthering the effort to increase the visability. Your site does that, but how is it affecting the line of communication?

I actually came across this forum by a link posted by someone on the other site which was included in a response. Since then, I have noted that some try to post to both sites, and what ensues is a smattering of responses that don't make any sense. Unless you flip back and forth between the sites. Therefore the suggestion to have a link on both sites.

There is some concern expressed by some of the membership as to who is running for Athlete's Rep and EC. No one seems to know who the candidates are for the EC. Is it too soon to know? Have they been announced? Members in my state are asking and we can't give them an answer. Yes..., the bios have been posted over on the other site and the names known for Athlete's Reps. A question that has not been answered is how the votes are to be submitted. I have not checked the home page for the Fed, but if anyone could be an enabler to one lazy fool, I would appreciate it.

Thank you Jason for taking the time to explain everything to me and the readers of your forum. Perhaps the membership and other visitors like me will now have a better understanding how the two forums came into being and will look to both when seeking information. Hopefully, posters will make an effort to post pertinent information on both to get the message out to all. Also, in closing, would you agree that issues concerning open lines of communication should be addressed at the upcoming NGB meeting? It is important that all state chairs hold at least an annual meeting and stay in contact with their members. And they can only do their job if they are getting up to date information. Not sure how that is done now, but you will find that if everyone is kept informed with the same information, things run much smoother.

Keep up the great work,

Regards,

Jim
