A cage, huh? Personally, I could make a case for squatting and benching in a cage. Better yet, a half cage sort of like the bench press racks that westide uses.

The only problem with a cage is that the bigger guys complain about hand placement and rack interferance.
IF we could come up with a 1/2 or 2/3 cage that included safety pins, a wide base and allowed large guys to get their hands in position we could increase safety without sacrificing comfort or visibility for the audience.

Also if you've got the pins, and they are set up correctly you'd hardly ever need more than 3 spotters because the bar is going to stop on the pins.
