i answered based on his question for American records. For the IPF, if you break a record in the 50-59 category and it supercedes the 40-49 one, you are given credit for that also. if you turn 49 this year, you would be competing for a spot in the 40-49 category. You wouldn't be eligible for the IPF M2 division until next year, which Masters Nationals will be held in Racine, WI.
