I think my opinion is shared my more referees then that. Just because a decision is "difficult" to make does not mean you should opt out of your responsibilities.

As my original post said... if you are in doubt the lifter should get a white.

Have I given a red on depth while the sides have given whites? Yes... in one instance after judging for 4 hours.

Now ask me how many times have I given a white from the front and the sides given reds on depth?

Maybe that means I am being too lenient?
