You state:
"I cringe when I see members (often friends of those in various leadership positions) who say "nothing is wrong with us, everything is fine; it's other people who are causing the problem" or who try to either censor or jump all over someone who begs to differ instead of considering the truth. Is this organization not run by its membership? Or are some in this organization trying to control its members using manipulation and intimidation?"

I agree. When I have brought up my concerns in the past I have been treated like a malcontent and trouble maker. I have stated that I do support the USAPL and find most of the lifters in that federation to be outstanding athletes and demonstrate excellent sportsmanship. But my concerns were discounted and that I was told to lift elsewhere. I admit that got me angry in the past so I responded in like form. Not very mature of me but I have gotten over my anger now and just want to get reinvested to the level I can. I may never be able to compete again in the USAPL because I take medically prescribed hormone replacement therapy. I have been labeled a druggie by a few who are ignorant of the medical necessity and extreme low dosages I take. But I don't let that bother me as I know I do not abuse steroids or any other drug. I do hope that this new forum opens up fresh and constructive dialog so real issues can be addressed and not just sweep under the rug.I think that will help build a stronger USAPL and help increase membership.
