New England States Championships *LINK*

The NE States Championships were this past weekend, what a great meet! Rene had over 20 teens enter the meet, with large teams from Xaverian High School in Mass and North Bergen from New Jersey. These kids put on a great show, with more than a few going over 500 in the squat and dead. It was really nice to see so many young people compete.

Congratulations to Next Level lifters Arianna Mike, Eric, Ryan, Chris, Al, Corey, Diane, Jeff, John, Kevin, Dave, Garrett and Coach Rene. Everyone lifted very well and took home some new PR's. Arianna was particularly impressive, squating 300 lbs in the 123's at only 18 years of age, along with Mike Parrillo's 560 dead at 18 years old, Corey's 365 bench in his first meet, and Rene's big 600 lb squat. I can’t remember much else, but we will try to get the results posted soon.

A huge thank you goes out to all the spotters, loaders, and helpers in this meet. All the Next Level lifters stuck around after lifting to spot and load and clean up after the meet. Thank you to the meet sponsors, Next Level Fitness for putting on the meet, Cambridge Sound Works for donating 2 MP3 players for the best lifters and Inzer Advanced Designs for donating several gift certificates for the winners. IAD also sent several bench shirts which were given to the two High School teams, who were very appreciative of John's generosity.

The next local New England meet will be held in November. Rene and all the state chairs in this area put on very well run meets, if you are in the area definitely think about competing or stopping in to see the competition!
