Consider Chucks - They are made for basketball which some would say is a outdoor sport, yet there are plenty of basketball courts inside.

If Chucks are legal, Vans are or should be legal.

I've actually seen indoor skiing on TV and am thinking of taking some ski boots to gear check at my next meet.
