In thinking about my concerns about the USAPL Meets I had my unpleasant experiences at, it is interesting to note that they had the same Meet Directors (The King Brothers) as the old ADFPA meets I used to attend at the same location. In the ADFPA Days the meets were very fun, excellent competition, fair and consistent judging, and the King Brother's Mother and family ran the best concession stand I have experienced at any meet. Their mother was a fabulous cook and everything was great. So maybe the key to this old boys heart is through my stomach? LOL But in all seriousness the USAPL Meets had a different atmosphere. Same Meet Directors but different results. But I can't lay it in their lap. I has no contact with either of them all day. It was the rest of the meet staff that were the problem. I should have made it a point to talk with them later but I was disgusted that I left early. In retrospect I would do that different now. As far as getting involved in helping at meets, I have always offered my help at almost every meet that myself of my team members have been in. I strongly believe in volunteering and I strongly encourage the rest of my team to do so also.
