Day 4 - I only got session one because I was spotting sessions 2 and 3

here we go:

Welcome to Day 4

Opening squats for the first flight started out with a surprise.

The first lifter Tapani PHUHAKKA FIN. had problems with his opener and missed the lift. Three lifters later, Francois CHAZELLE FRA also missed his opener.

Aside from these miscues the openers were typically easy, good lifts.

2nds
PHUHAKKA FIN came back and made the repeat
TAYLOR Jack CAN – good lift at167.5
COMELLI Luis Angel ARG good lift at 172.5 kgs – a little tough though
CHAZELLE Franηois FRA CAME up to three reds on the repeat of 200 kg
LINDSEY William USA – 205 kgs - - had to replace bar – 20 seconds - set up and missed lift on way down – out of position?
ELLENDER Michael FRA same weight stands up – easy lift – 3 whites
M’BONGUE Emmanuel FRA – 215 kgs walks out, sets up, down and up – a little slow but he CAME up with it – no lift - depth
BATTISON David GBR – 220 kgs – bar is ready – he takes the load with a grunt, gets the command and ohhh. He took it down and then came up leaning to one side and ooohhh missed it
DOS SANTOS Olicio BRA – same weight – bar is loaded – easy lift – good 2-1
MATTILA Kari SWE same weight – he gets the command from ISAGOWA and takes it down- easy lift and 3 whites

3rds
PHUHAKKA FIN – 145 kgs is the load. He’s a very tall man for this class, He’s almost as tall as Cardella, the back spotter, as he dips under the bar – looks easy as he comes up and then….he falls forward a bit and the spotters grab him
TAYLOR Jack CAN 177.5 kgs – another pretty easy lift for Jack and he gets 2 whites
CHAZELLE Franηois FRA – missed the first two – needs this – and GETS IT 2-1

COMELLI Luis Angel ARG – his last one was a little tough and he’s jumping to 200 kgs – a huge jump from his 172.5 2nd. Timed out getting under the bar
LINDSEY William USA – 205 kgs – he missed this on the second – down and up easy but 2 reds for depth

ELLENDER Michael FRA – 212.5 kgs here- he smoked his second at 205. Gets under the bar with 35 seconds- Gets the command at 24, Takes it down slowly and stands up fast. 3 whites
BATTISON David GBR – 220 kgs –easy lift but looked high to me – yep - 3 reds

M’BONGUE Emmanuel FRA 220 kgs for the brother with the blue socks from France. Down fast and up slow –locks it out and it’s good! 3 whites
MATTILA Kari SWE – 230 kgs – he’s made his first two- sits back and fights it up – 2 -1 good lift

TAYLOR USA_117.5 kgs – good lift

OK...I’m at the store table and right now I can’t see the benchers clearly – Dan Gadreau is between me and a clear line of sight. If I was a sniper I couldn’t take the shot. I can see shins and feet. I can tell you if the lifter is using the foot blocks though LOL

LAURSEN DEN 150 kgs another easy lift
FRAZER CAN – 167.5

CANADA is in the house – complete with flag waving and screaming. FRASER has his own rooting session.
He had to replace the bar and restart. Gets the command takes it down but it’s just too much.
GREENIDGE – CAN – waves to his rooting section and takes the bench. Takes it down and blows it back up – 3 whites, eh?
MAUCHOSSE FRA – 175 kgs - 2 whites got the red from the center- my guess is uneven lockout as one side looked to lock first from here – looked strong but an uneven lock on the opener might not bode well for later

GREENIDGE - 185 kgs –down and up for 3 whites
MAUCHOSSE FRA – same weight never in doubt – 3 reds
AARHUS _ SWE – 195 kgs – has been lifting easy weights so far. 3 more white lights
BRIDGES USA – 215 kgs so far Mike has owned the bench. He’s fired up and actually runs up to the bench – takes the bar down and it’s another smoke show – Childs play. None of the lifts looked to even make him work. –

Flight C
Openers
NWAMPKA – NGR – 110 kgs – easy opener
JORDAAN RSA – 120 kgs – easy lift
Interesting note: Larry Maile is actually doing spotting and hand offs. It’s nice to see a guy with a tie doing the “dirty” work. However, Larry lose the black socks with the tennis shoes. Don’t be that guy. LOL
TERRY USA - 152.5 kgs – down and up as easily as those long long deadlifters arms will allow good lift

CARLOT – FRA 167.5 – missed this one the last one- missed it at the very top here.

HAKKARAINEN FIN 167.5 also increases 5 kgs – 3 whites
JENSEN – 175.0 kgs needs this to stay in meet. He’s missed the last two really badly. That has to be playing with his mind. He locks it out but it was uneven. No lift
NORPILA – FIN 177.5 – also needs this to avoid the bomb out – presses it up easily for 2 whites.
SCHNURR GER last one was good but had some control probs as the triceps took over 3 reds
MERAUT FRA –he’s 2 for 2 and has looked strong but I didn’t think the bar stopped on the chest on the last one. This one looked better for pause but he couldn’t finish it. 3 reds
JONES USA – repeat at 217.5 – lost tightness at bottom of last one and bar bobbled on chest. This time it was just too much – no lift.
