A world class athlete in track and powerlifting has fallen...

FRENN, George
Born in San Fernando, Ca December 26, 1941, passed away in Sacramento June 26, 2006 at the age of 64 years. Survived by his sister, Jeanette Rose, brothers, Robert, Anthony and David Frenn and their families. George was an amateur athlete from 1959 to 1978, appeared on the cover to Sports Illustrated on July 6th, 1970, represented the U.S. at the 1972 Olympics in the hammer throw and held world records in the 35# and 56# weight throws. He recently retired after 32 years teaching science in several California high schools. Friends are welcome to attend Services Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at 7:00 P.M. at ST. GEORGE MELKITE-GREEK CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1620 Bell Street, Sacramento, Ca 920-2900. Private interment, St. Mary's Cemetery. Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger, directors 451-7284.
