Nationals Results *LINK*

It's probably my fault. Word got out that I was injured and wouldn't be attending. The social event of the season turned into just another powerlifting meet.
Seriously though, I know of a few people that were injured also and that kept them out.
Also, if you read the minutes from the NGB meeting, you'll notice that judging issues are discussed several times. I would not be surprised if several lifters didn't attend for related reasons. There was a huge buzz after Masters.
One of my training parters was kind of turned off after Master's this year. He walked out a squat and got set up and the head ref told him he had to walk out farther from the racks. Nowhere in the rules does it say that you have to do anything but clear the racks but nobody called her on it. He didn't really feel like flying across the country again after that.
Every few years though there is a down year and then it swings back up. Hopefully that will be the case next year. I just saw that Men's Nationals will return to St. Louis next year. Last time Nationals was in St. Louis it was a great meet and the "after party bus ride" was unforgettable.... although I don't remember a lot of it. LOL
I'll be there for sure (that alone should increase attendance by at least 10 percent).
