You're trying to tell me that no one in the USAPL knew that the suspensions were coming? I'll ignore the fact that several USAPL members are on the DC and state that the IPF has been posturing this stance for months now. Ever since they went to Russia's and Ukraine's meets.

> Our strongest team will be going to Norway.

So guys like McLawchin, Austin, Benemerito, Gahagan, Douglas, Lade and Gillingham at this competition might not have resulted in a stronger team? No offence to the winners... but these guys would have put up some competition and maybe won a team spot or two? Maybe with a few more lifters in the flights things wouldn't have been so hurried and some of the lifters who bombed might have performed better?

See above. But you run what you got. That's the way the rules work.

I am unfamiliar with all your lifters... but off the top of my head has Jones ever competed at the international level? (Again I am not saying he doesn't deserve to go... just refutting your claim of everyone being experienced at the IPF level).

So why the low turn out? If you're recruiting then you know why people didn't come.

Ummm... I know this argument is used all the time as a rebuttal point.

Doesn't work here... I cannot be a USAPL member as I am a Canadian. If you want to propose a change at the USAPL NGB next year to allow Canadian citizens to join I'll be more then happy to show up.

For the record I've sat in on the CPU AGM 5 times, provincial president for 4 years, national sponorship chair, national referee and assistant meet director for CPU Nationals in 2005. I hardly sit on the sidelines.

Fair enough but neither is ignoring the problem.
