Regina's philosophy about judging made reading this thread worthwhile. Most of the rest was written by a lot of nice people (and good or perhaps great lifters) was verbal crap.
I do not lift and compete to feel warm and fuzzy and liked by all participants. I first competed to beat previous totals and as improvement came, I added the goal of beating others my weight, and then my weight and age group. Our sport has a lot less subjectivity than others. A total tells you who won or lost. A friend of the promoter or federation V.P. needs to weigh less or have 1 lb. more total to beat you.
Does anyone really know an organization that is run by the members? Really? My experience is that a few end up always doing the most and eventually they feel used and deserving of more and get themselves in some sort of trouble.
Just a few more sentences of verbal crap from me and I'm done. Regardless of how GOOD someone is, they should not be allowed to be in office more than two years.
I have almost forgotten when I first heard about the online forums for powerlifting, how excited I was that I might pick up more ideas about lifting and competing.
I thank all those that serve in administrative positions in the powerlifting federations. The fact that your positions be replaced periodically should not be taken as an insult.
