Jason,
I'm not sure by your comments if you agree with me and are just offended by my bluntness or choice of words. Your statements extend my agrument for the answers I gave. Of course solutions are easy to say and difficult to do. I'm just tired of reading complaints with no solutions. Here's some other ideas. Lifetime memberships, special considerations for promoters; providing them with suggestions for post meet publicity.
We should pick Lance Slaughter and Rob Keller's mind for what worked and should be included in all meet promotions. They have raised the bar significantly on how a meet should be run and we need to copy their success and share it with other meet promoters. Our USAPL web site has no information about how our team did at the IPF world championship (if its there, I didn't see it). Many of us have had a dislike for bodybuilding types but they have a patron (no saint) Joe Weider. Would it be worth cozying up to try to get some advertising money?
I pay my member dues, compete, offer suggestions, promote meets, and try to increase powerlifting participation in the gym.
