That is true, but there is no necessity to compete in both. I would hope that even the IPF would not interpret someone who only deadlifted as having competed in a world bench press contest! However, I would like to hear confirmation that if I enter the deadlift at the WABDL world championships, I won't be making myself ineligible for IPF championships during the next 12 months. Certainly that would seem be what the rule says. If the IPF was to start hosting a Deadlift world champs, then I could imagine them amending the rule wording.
