"I like the odds better when the lifter or their coach calls the press, at least, two of the three referees may think you are right. If the press signal comes back officially, then only one judges the pause."

I liked the old way. The head ref calls the press and that part of the lift is over with. You have to satistfy one judge. If he says to press in you've paused long enough. No need to worry about satisfying three refs or having your coach call press and the refs thinking your coach is wrong.

Nope. Give me "Start, Press and Rack."

My bench probably won't be any better but at least I'll have less stress ..... and stress causes cortisol.

Cortisol causes catabolism.

Catabolism is muscle loss.

Muscle loss is bad for powerlifters.

Since powerlifting was BORN in America, anything bad for powerlifting is an attack on the US.

Therefore not having a press command is anti-American and dammit, we just can't stand for that.

Baseball, The NFL, Hot Dogs, Apple Pie, Microsoft, and the Press Command.

(wiping away a tear) They can have my press command when they tear it from my cold, dead, wind pipe.
