If you get caught using something that was known to be against the rules then you should get a ban. If you get a ban then (in my opinion) your records should also suffer that same ban.
If you know that this can happen to you then it would be fair. The IPF could change and adopt this into their bylaws. It changes things all the time.

It curbs cheaters.
