In Response To: National records question(s) (Tom Allred)

Here's the problem with the term "National Record":

It should be termed as a National "Meet" Record. That's all it really is, a record set at a particular meet. In this case it's a National Meet.

It would be as if you were lifting at some local meet (let's call it "The Battle Of The Giants") that has been going on for 20 years; and they kept records. If you broke that record it would be a Battle Of The Giants “Meet” Record.

The records that can be set across the board are American Records. An American record could be set at both the National Meet and the Battle Of The Giants Meet.

Confused yet?

We really need to just combine these records and make just one National/American record which would finally stop the confusion.
