I'm sure you'll never understand the psychology of athletes that want to fool the drug tests. It happens in the Olympics with all kinds of athletes vying for that gold medal. Money, and huge sponsorship deals maybe the motivation. Some athletes just have the desire to see how far they can take their body with drugs. Many athletss rationalize that everyone is doing it and I need to do it as well so I don't get left behind or else I will lose. Other motivations are vain repetitions of the same thing. You can't pin it on one thing in particular, but there is a motivation to use drugs with all the risks of getting caught and risk to one's health. Athletes are risk takers in general. They want to push their bodies beyond the norm. They don't want to be the normal joe on the street. They are better than that. So if Joe normal can cheat on his taxes, wife, business partners, the speed limit etc., why wouldn't an athlete be similar in his or her thinking? Everyone wants to get ahead of the competition. That's my basic simple explanation if it makes any sense.

I noticed today, as I trolled various strength sport forums, that there is quite a bit of discussion regarding ways to "fool" drug tests. I was curious why someone that is using drugs would want to lift in a tested federation? What exactly is the motivation? Wouldn't it be the same if you won a contest in a raw fed wearing gear? Seems like it would be an empty victory and not something to be proud of. If your not strong enough to win, you shouldn't win. If you win because you had an unfair advantage, the win doesn't mean anything anyway. I just don't understand the psychology of it.
