Membership Question

Hello All.

I have a question about renewing my USAPL membership. I understand the membership was recently changed from 12 months from the time of purchase to a calendar year membership, expires the end of December no matter when purchased. Does this apply to this year which is the transition year?

My current membership expires November 12 and I was planning to enter the Colorado State Contest on December 3. Does this mean I would have to pay the full $40 fee on December 3 for a membership that will expire less than four weeks later?
