I also know Marty and he tried to get me to buy one of these contraptions swearing that it was being "used by all the leading powerlifters today!" Marty now has so many tattoos he is being to look like "The Illustrated Man." He also shaves his head and wears some gold earrings. Maybe he thinks it helps his salesmanship.

Matt Separis got two bodybuilders from Fitness to 'star' in his promotional video developed for the whatchamacallit exercise device (notice how both of us carefully avoid calling it by its real name lest we incidentally promote its sales!) in exchange for giving each of them one of the devices apiece free (talk about being cheap!) but then he had second thoughts and didn't give any to either of them. I am working on them to train them for our powerlifting meet on May 20th. It is not yet sanctioned but that should be the next meet coming up. The bodybuilding club at Idaho Staet University also asked me to become their faculty advisor and I will try to convert many fo them to the 'true faith' (i.e. powerlifting) as well . . .

Steve, last time I saw you (in Palm Springs) you were a National Referee and it wouldn't surprise me if you become, or have already become, an IPF Cat II ref. But in any case our meet director, Bill Davis (1-208-233-8035), would greatly welcome you to help with our meet. I think these meets have come a long way here since the 1980s. Do you remember a Jerry Englebright from Twin Falls? He was once a national champion and went to at least one IPF meet and was also involved in bodybuilding as well. Well he actually came to one of our meets about three years ago and won the overall placing of the Masters lifters.

Anyhow I will pass you comments on to Bill Davis.

Sean
