The "whole buttocks" rule could, depending on how it is enforced, cause a lot of problems. As I posted on the other forum, you could have no arch and a totally flat back, but (no pun intended) if you flex a glute your "whole buttocks" is not on the bench. Clearly, in this example, the intent of the rule was not to punish this non archer, but technically this is a violation of the rule.

A lot of bench pressers who do not arch, flex or tighten their glutes during the bench press.
