Women's Nationals-Mardi Gras *LINK*

Women's is Mardi Gras weekend....the following Tuesday is Mardi Gras day. If ya'll plan on staying in New Orleans (an hour away from Baton Rouge), you should book your rooms now...the average room is $300 a night before the 13% hotel tax and parking is $22 a day (the parking fee is actually normal). Mardi Gras goes on for 2 weeks in New Orleans and ends on Mardi Gras day. The best time to go bar hopping at this time is during the day...at night, the streets are so crowded you can't even move your arms.

If there aren't any hotel rooms available, you can book one in Metarie, LA.. It's about 20 mins. to downtown New Orleans (actually, that turns into about 2 hours during Mardi Gras). Have fun and enjoy the experience for those of you who plan on taking advantage of your trip down to Louisiana.

Also, just a note: New Orleans has more of a Creole heritage, where as Lafayette and surrounding towns have more of a Cajun heritage. I just wanted to add that in there.
