Eric,

I can't speak for the quality of any of these refs. But I have noticed statements like your's before. Giving a person's lifting background doesn't give them credibility as a referee. I've heard this for years. "He/she has been to worlds before and knows what is a good lift." I personally know of a few lifters who have been to a world meet and are poor referees. While I agree with the fact that worlds experience can help with being a ref, it doesn't necessarily make them good. Lifting and judging and totally different skills.
