Exsessive gear, open drug use and personal gain are what is dividing the sport. The Olympics will not effect the situation. If competing for the IPF championship or the World Games (an IOC affiliated event), then I don't feel that the Olympics will have much of an impact. Only raw/single ply, drug tested lifters will want to participate. What 1200 lb squatter wants to drop down to 945? Hell of a shot to the ego.
