Brad,

You will notice my post above about my other posts on the other forum. (I CAN mention the other forum on this one)

I still contend that a side referee can and should red-light a bench attempt when the bar is NOT motionless on the chest. I think that all referees have a duty to go by the rules. The IPF Technical Chairman has said in his post on the IPF website that you use the yellow card when the bar in NOT motionless. I have felt that the bar had to be on the chest for a certain length of time just that it has to be on the chest and motionless.

I would not want to take away another lifter's World,American,National or State record when I saw an infraction of the rules when I had the authority to red light.

I don't like the press signal rule but I will abide by it until it is changed again.
