Powerlifting training - Sacramento metro

Posted By: Ryan

Does anyone know a gym or an individual in the Sacramento Area who can help me refine my powerlifting technique.

I have only competed twice but have competed well, earning a qualifying total at both. At each event, I have received some great coaching tips and truly appreciated it. However, I usually found myself asking for the advice on the fly and ended up scatter brained on the platform (I am notorious for going before the refs. signal).

I continue to be frustrated with basic issues regarding my technique and gear.

Am I going deep enough? Is my shirt on right? Am I wrapping my knees correctly and at the right time? How is my deadlift stance? etc. These are the types of questions haunting me on the platform and it would be nice if I could get them resolved BEFORE the day of the meet.

I currently train at a corporate type health club and am an anamoly when it comes to powerlifting. While I am comfortable at that club and would still consider it my home gym, it would be nice to meet or train with a true competitive powerlifter or trainer once a week or so to give me the advice and tips I need to maximize my potential.

Can anyone help?
