Congratulations Tyson Green: MO/Ozark Best Lifter *LINK* *PIC*

Date: Sunday, 11 March 2007, at 9:33 a.m.

Yesterday the Mo St/Ozark was held in St. Louis and was very smooth, well attended event with 100+ lifters. Harold Gaines and Co. promoted the event and did an awesome job.

The event started at about 9:15 and completed around 5pm. One of the highlights of the day for me personally, was getting to talk to Mike Bridges again.

Prior to the competition getting started, I brought Mike in front of the large crowd that was assembled, for a breif interview. What a great feeling to have a lifting legend among us and to also be able to convey to the many younger lifters in attendance, his legacy to the sport.

An especially bright spot was all of those we had lifting. There were at least 40 if not more, teenage lifters that came from all over.

The best lifter for the event was 198 lb. Tyson Greene. Tyson developed as the top Jr. 198er, and will now throw his hat into the ring at this year's Mens Nationals.

Chad "Hardcore" Holmes also made it back onto the platform and posted a huge Raw total of 1,725 at 242.

Three more lifters qualified for the Mens Nationals. They were Holmes, Donovan Garris (SHW), and big benching Brady Stewart, 242 Ozark Champion. Brady is coached by old school, throwback lifter Dana Rosenzweig, of nearby Belleville Weightlifting Club.

The next big event in our area will be the Illinois State/Great Rivers Open, which will be held by veteran meet director Mark Motsinger. This even will be May 12th in Harrisburg, IL. Thanks to everyone who made yesterday a huge success!
