NC Battle on the Border *LINK*

Last Saturday we had our first annual Battle on the Border in Charlotte, NC. Jon Mouzon put on a fantastic competition. This was our largest event to date. We actually had to cut the competition at 60 lifters for fear of lifting into the late evening. The support staff rocked and started the meet on time at 10:30 and we left the venue at 6:30. The awards Jon had made were spectacular and the Battle on the Border plaque he had made himself, looks great in my gym! In the end, NC prevailed over SC and Virginia. It was a close race in the beginning, but SC needs to get some heavy guys involved.
We had so many NC and SC state records broken I lost count. We also had three American Records broken by Gene Blue, Thomas Arrington and Mike McCoy. Lots of young talent showed up for the meet and we had a blast.
A special note, John Demchek qualified for Men's Nationals after some outstanding lifting. Way to go John!
Looking forward to another battle next year!
Great Job Jon!!!
