I understand the device is a basic inclinometer and an electrical connection is made when it rotates past parallel. However, the angle at the top of the thigh is not how squat depth is judged in the USAPL or IPF. The top surface of the thigh at the hip joint must go below the top of the knee. The inclinometer only senses the angle where it is attached and does not actually compare the height at the top of the leg at the hip to the height of the top of the knee.
