"What we would like is to see him back on the platform!"

Don't worry, that is in the cards. Like I said before, I plan to be on the platform at Men's Nationals in 98. Plan right now is to qualify at the end of this year. Three meets are coming up that I'm looking at - two here in Cal (October in Rancho Cordova and November in SoCal for any Cali lifters looking for a meet) and the American Open. One of my training partners is already planning on doing the American Open and that looks like a good choice. I'll also be helping out at the October and November meets so the American Open will be a chance to be "just a lifter."

"Deep knows we love him and just have his best interest at heart. (I hope) Then, maybe he doesn't. Has anyone seen or heard of Deep in the last week?"

Been busy and have only been checking email every couple of days. I've got a lot of catching up to do, including updating my training logs and website.

Speaking of which:
a) overall, training has been going well lately. Monday night was the first night I've felt strong in a long long time. I felt a lot like the old me... and yes there was smack talking for the frist time in a while. We've got some young guys that we are training with and they are just really starting to get it and the training sessions have become both competitive and supportive with everyone trying to push each other to get better.

2) Personally, I think my squat and dead are both in the 80-85% range right now. Not great but coming back. Squats are finally feeling pretty good and I can hold the bar on my back without much pain and the shoulder doesn't fatigue as quickly.

I suffered a small setback in the bench last week. We were doing floor presses and I beat my post injury PR twice but instead of stopping there, I wanted to beat the kid I had just tied..... Took the weight down and on the way up the right shoulder kind of sunk down to the floor. Best wat to desctribe it is that it felt like the head of the humerus slid down and out of the socket. There was a popping noise just before but that was just my old man elbows making noise. LOL.

I'd been doing a great job of listening to my body and stopping just short of breaking myself until then. I iced it as soon as I got home and took an anti-imflam that they gave me whenI originally tore the muscles. Doesn't seem like I did any real damage. It was probably just a reminder to keep up my rehab exercises!

Anyway, my bench so far is only back to 275 - paused and shirtless but it's getting better. It's just slow.

When I get caught up I'm going to set up a section of my site to chronicle the rest of the comeback - I think it will be interesting to any old people (and young people) who'd like to see an injury prone, genetically challenged, use-ta-be-a-national-caliber lifter return to the top... er, middle. LOL

(oh, and there will be video clips and PIE!)

Finally tried out the TRX the Monday night. Impressive so far. We were only on a high box so I still have to test it out on the low box but I liked it very much. Was easier to get into than my HC and even on the high box, I got nice boost.
