I think it is very obvious what has happened. Hara clung on to the belief that he had hair for quite a few years beyond when this was a reality. Although he enjoyed quite a bit of success during this period, it is also evident that he was held back from reaching his full potential. By finally embrasing his baldness within the past by shaving his head, he's been able to take his lifting to the next level.
