Thank you for your inquiry re: www.squatprecision.com When time permits, please visit www.youtube.com/benching341 and view all three demo videos. The device being illustrated in these videos can provide a two volume audio BEEP ( only the low volume is demonstrated ) The device can detect ranges from depths of a mere fraction below parallel ( as seen in video "Seeing is Believing" )to " IPF Legal Depth "( also shown ) and beyond /lower than IPF depth ( not illustrated, no reason to ). If you lift in a gym that has loud music playing and are concerned about not hearing your AUDIO BEEP at a fraction below YOUR Federation's legal squat depth - simply lift the tab on the audio device and your Audio alert will be at "120 decibels" - louder than anyone's ACDC or OZZY music playing, let alone the gyms standard Carpenter's music being piped in. The other device you refer to - what is its audio decibel level? Squat Precision allows your preferred music to blast through your ipod and earphones - yet you will still hear Squat Precision's audio alert on volume 2. Simple physics of Squat Precision makes this device flawless in detecting depth levels. It's electrical, running off a 9 volt battery. NO MERCURY SWITCH HERE. Accidents can happen, and you do not want a mercury accident - ever. Squat Precision recognizes Safety first. Very heavy duty poly webbing and an industrial camber buckle for 0% slippage, and a strap that will not stretch out or curl up ( this means it is locked on to your leg ). The other device you refer to ( as of 4/28/09 ) states in its own ad at its own web site ,,, " detects parallel " Mentions NOTHING about BELOW PARALLEL. Squat Precision doesn't acknowledge parallel. At parallel squat Precision is dead silent ! Which Powerlifting Federation passes parallel squats ? Squat Precision doesn't need to be rigged to detect exact legal depths BELOW parallel. This device is made for Powerlifters requiring alerts to the 1/16" below their required depths - not something manufactured and marketed to "detect at parallel". I sincerely invite you to compare both product's performance and level of audio detection, and your question will be quickly answered. Greatly appreciate the comment and inquiry. An order from Switzerland was shipped 2 days ago, so Squat Precision is now being distributed Nationwide and Worldwide. I personally manufacture and test each and every product prior to shipment. It has an industrial design , extremely durable, but first and foremost, its safe, and secondly it has flawless accuracy. I encourage you to incorporate one in your workouts to help you obtain your highest pound, legal depth, one rep max. Again, sincere thanks for your inquiry / question.
