"I actually do not think the IPF cares whether more people squat over 1000 lbs or bench over 700. I do think they are becoming concerned over how much the newer equipment is increasing lifts."

They go hand in hand, don't they? Admittedly, IPF judging would preclude the sheer numbers of 1000 lbs squats they we've seen elsewhere but the gear is also a big factor.

"I think that is a trivialization Deep. For instance if the IPF rolled back material to the older Z-suit/marathon/centurion days do you not think this would impact the manufacturers?"

As far as I know, that hasn't been tabled. The moratorium is ON NEW designs. I haven't heard anything about current designs being removed, in fact, correct me if I'm wrong, weren't manufacturers allowed to submit new designs this year with the moratorium talkng place from this point forward?

" They all have spent quite a considerable amount of $$$ and time to develop the new material, update their equipment lines, marketing, etc."

See above.

"Plus the impact to the lifters. Could you imagine telling a guy showing up to your next meet that his Hardcore suit isn't allowed or that his NXG+ Fury is not approved?LOL It's bad enough with boots and socks! "

Agreed. Been there, done that. Now, the latest rage is.. well, asided from the RAGE...those Under Armour shirts and shorts. That and boxer briefs. About half the lifters don't know about the "long sock" requirement. Working the gear check is such a joy. LOL
