Transitioning to no knee wraps

In Response To: Re: Knee Sleeves (Bill Schmidt)

All,
Bill's meet has had a planned and advertised raw division under the rules as they existed when they sanctioned this meet. With the short time between changing the definition of raw to exclude knee wraps and his meet, it is reasonable to include them. The lifters won't get to set raw records, but they can lift if they use knee wraps.

BUT. BUT. Raw must comply with the rules in a period of time that will allow lifters to transition to lifting without them. Say, 6-8 weeks after the rule change, i.e. Sept. 1 at the latest.

After that, everyone will have had fair warning and will also have had time to adapt their training. Those using wraps thereafter will be "equipped." LJM
