Ooh, I quit doing those awhile back. I follow RDC's advice to have any assistance work emulate the actual (in this case, benching) movement as closely as possible. (For example, inclines, declines, and close-grips.) No single-joint movements for me. Pushdowns are good for BBing though, LOL.
(Isn't it amazing how opinions differ?)
