Janet and Steve Loveall couldn't find the right venue in Sacramento and other issues came up that caused them to cancel. Maybe next year. Just be glad there's a USAPL meet somewhere in the state of CA.
Next year the State meet will be held in Modesto at the Jr College gym in the 1st or 2nd week of March promoted by none other than me.
I hear what some people are saying already. Why is Denison promoting a USAPL meet?? Well, first off the CA State chair, Mike Womelsdorf, asked me if I would mind putting it on and I said not a problem. I would be glad to help out since I'm also USAPL card member. I promote single ply traditional powerlifting first and federation 2nd as it should be and since I have 4 combo racks and Ivanko kilo wts I might as well make good use of them. Plus who needs to draw lines except for people with too much pride. We're an amateur sport with no monetary rewards except personal satisfaction. The bottom line is Powerlifting is supposed to be fun. Let's keep it that way! Screw the politics.
