Hello Minnesota lifters,

As you may have noticed, the agenda for the NGB (National Governing Body) meeting has just been posted:

As the state chair for Minnesota, I will have a vote on these items. I believe my role as state chair is to vote in a way that reflects the will of the majority in our state and not my personal opinion. As a result, I am asking all current Minnesota members to please read over the agenda and let me know how you would vote on the items. If you are interested in reading the minutes of previous NGB meetings, they are archived here:

First of all, I obviously can not make you do this - this is your chance to voice your thoughts and opinions and take ownership of your organization. It will take a few minutes on your part but what I can tell you is that I will vote based on the responses I get from you. This means that if only a few people send me their thoughts, then my vote will go the way of the majority of those few - basically, this means that a few people will determine the vote for the entire membership of the state. Secondly, since I do not have a full email list of current members and because there is no set system in place to accomplish comprehensive polling, I am using this forum as a means of communication. I will also send out an email to those for which I have contact information. Please be aware that you must be a current member to voice your opinions on these items - I have a list of all current Minnesota members. Please send me an email (with the subject line "NGB Agenda") to the following address with your thoughts on the various items up for a vote:

Please share this information with other Minnesota members who may not know this is being done. Please say whether you are "in favor of" or "against" the proposals in items 8 and 9 (pages 2-5) as well as your selections for items 10 and 11 (page 6) and future meet locations on page 8. You are encouraged to "vote" on all items, but you are free to vote on as many or as few as you like. Please have your response sent to me by 5PM on Wednesday, June 10 as I will be headed to Denver the following morning and may not have internet access. Thank you for your input.
