On another forum, some are questioning why I was chosen to be on the Montel Williams Show. Below is what I answered. I think it is a real shame anytime someone is chosen to do something or has done an outstanding lift, someone has to say: Why was that person chosen or someone else can lift more weight. Why can't we just be happy that someone has done something good?

"To answer a few questions. I don't know why I was chosen. I came home from the gym one day and had a call on my answering machine asking me to call a person on the Montel Williams Show. I thought it was a joke but called anyway. I told them there were many other female powerlifters who lifted more than me, if they wanted a young lifter, a strong lifter or an old lifter, they should call Kendra Miller, Priscilla Ribic or Harriet Hall. They said they wanted me. Ok, I was not going to turn them down. They sent a guy to video me at the AF Base Gym, talked to me for an hour and a half on the phone. Then flew me to New York.

The show is not so much about powerlifting as it is about females in male dominatied fields. There are women of all ages on the show. Me being the oldest and several girls from Long Island being the youngest.

It was fun and I would do it again."
