Hello from Switzerland.
A big thanks to Nectar and Kevin for their great work again at the worlds. Despite troubles with the meet organization, they stayed focused on getting the lifters ready to perform their best. There were many great performances by our team, too many here to list, just read the results. But those numbers do not show the distractions that needed to be overcome.
Thanks to all the team members for again making this a great experience. I had fun being the unofficial team translator. Brad, again thnks to your cousin and her husband for the rides around Schwedt, that was great.
The lifting platform in the middle of a swimming pool was a novel idea, but lifters and coaches could not see the clock, the chalk was on the platform, which meant you had to use your running time chalking, the clock ran fast (unbelievable for a World Championship) and announcing of the time was not always right on. My heart goes out to Barbara who timed out in her Gold Medal attempt and had to settle for Silver.
And a thanks to the German lifter Joachim Lietzau(1st M2 60 kg), who drove me from Schwedt to the Airport in Berlin, but first took me all around Berlin and showed me the main sights. That was very cool and a nice gesture by one of the German lifters.
