Susumu Yoshida for IPF President

Folks,

In the next few weeks one of the most important elections in our sport's history will occur when the IPF votes to elect a new executive committee. The reason I say that it is one of the most important is because I truly feel that our sport is at a critical juncture particularly at the international level. With USAPL gaining access to the Arnold Classic, we have the potential to gain some much needed momemtum to move our sport forward. However, it is also very clear to me that the utter pettiness, vindictiveness and politics of a certain voting block on the current IPF EC could set our sport back further than its ever been if they are allowed to continue on.

Because of the actions of this specific voting block on the current IPF EC, we have seen:
* a complete disrespect of our sport's history by turning the IPF Hall of Fame into a perk for the well connected.
* a complete disrespect of our sport's traditions by altering its rules of performance at will without input from its lifters and coaches
* A complete disrespect of our sport's rules by overturning the decisions of judges and juries when they are not members of either of these bodies
* A complete disrespect of the integrity of our world championships by continuing to allow unscrupulous meet directors to fleece our lifters with sub-par competitions and accomodations.

The IPF desperately needs leaders with vision rather than the beauraucrats that current fill its upper ranks, which is why I sincerely hope that Susumu Yoshida is elected as the next IPF President. Susumu sees our sport as having a common international goal rather than one which is split into not only regional but even personal interests as it is currently. Susumu also brings with him a very broad background of international business experience, which is also a very important skill for the next IPF President to have. Finally, Susumu brings with him passion and a thorough respect for our sport and its traditions. Susumu would be an excellent IPF President.
