Re: deadlift suits

I have worn the Marathon and Inzer Max DL suits and have had good results with both.
Sumo lifters seem to get more of an immediate effect than conventional lifters with conventional lifters needing more reps in the suit to get the groove.
I know for me pulling sumo, the tighter the better - including the straps but when conventional pulling tight straps seem to be harder to control.
Either way, it takes practice. The suit will make it harder to get down to the bar and will push you out of your groove if you let it. You have to force your groove onto the suit and not vice versa.
If you pull sumo, the suit will help off the floor a lot BUT you have to control it and not let your hips come up before your torso or your butt will shoot up and you will end up doing a wide stance stiff leg with the bar out in front of you.
Conventional lifters will get lift off the floor too but it's even more important not to let the suit force you forward. I know a couple of guys that have gotten the groove down and like it but I also know some conventional guys that try it a time or two, find it difficult and say forget it.
Practicing in the suit can make a world of difference. I have spoken to John Inzer about that and he recommends pulling singles in your suit.
