The idea of separate venues/dates allows more countries to learn the process of hosting a meet to IPF standards. Soon the NAPF PL meet will go to alternating years. The goal is not to send a top ranked USA team to all regional meets and clobber these other countries. We all expect the NAPF to continue its growth over the next 3-5 years. It remains an excellent means to gain international experience before moving to IPF world level competition.

Some would say Russian or Ukrainian nationals are more competitive than EPF regionals - maybe even worlds in some years. But giving more opportunity for competition and interaction - and therefore observation and development - can never be a bad thing.
