My guess is that if you meet the required total and your total is still high enough to lift in the higher class, you won't be outclassed because generally as you gain weight your squat and bench will increase. Conversely, as you drop weight, your squat and bench will usually drop at least in the short term and you might no longer meet the required total, at least in the short term.
